I was born in Quebec and spoke only French until moving to Ottawa at the age of 5. I attended school in the Ottawa region until graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Ottawa. My background in medical sciences, combined with an ever-present fondness for animals, led to a natural transition into veterinary medicine.
Prior to attending the Ontario Veterinary College, I volunteered in multiple animal hospitals, worked on a dairy farm and worked for the Public Health Agency of Canada in disease monitoring and public education. I obtained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2021. My areas of interest in the veterinary field include neurology, surgery, and emergency medicine.
My favourite part of the profession is the diversity of experiences we encounter, no two days are the same. My favourite part about the clinic is sharing these experiences with the wonderful staff while creating lasting relationships with the clients.
Fun fact about me I have a passion for wildlife conservation. During veterinary school, I travelled to South Africa and Namibia to work with wildlife and volunteer in cheetah conservation. I have a miniature dachshund at home named Maverick, and I also visit the family dog Cosmo in Ottawa whenever possible.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar, reading, travelling, playing hockey and cooking. Dr. Alex Geduld-Boucher was honoured as the best veterinarian.
